Each print is centred on the sheet with a fixed side margin, and a deeper lower margin reserved for the signature and edition number. M and XL match the two sizes the artist printed himself and continue his original edition numbers; S and L are new editions of 50 beginning at no. 1.

Story

A single green papaya stands on its end, and out of the top of it a long, slender stem rises to a great lace-edged leaf.

It looks, at first, like a small tree: a trunk, a stem, a crown of leaves. Then the order of things sinks in. On a papaya tree the fruit hangs from the trunk, below the leaves, fed by them. Here it is the other way round. The fruit stands at the bottom, and the leaf grows out of it, lifted high on a stem that seems far too thin for the job.

There comes a time, in most families, when this happens. Those who were carried begin to carry. The fruit of all those years stands up on its own and holds up the tree that bore it. It is not a reversal anyone plans. It simply arrives, and we find that we can bear the weight.

Perhaps, in time, the fruit holds up the tree.
