Six pale anthuriums stand in a white vase, each with a crimson throat, and around them black stems loop out into the empty space and back.

The flowers alone would be a pleasant, symmetrical thing. The black lines undo that. They swing wide, cross one another, and end in mid-air without arriving anywhere — drawing, not arranging.

What is written is not legible, and was never meant to be. It is the movement of a hand that kept going after the sentence was finished.
