Each print is centred on the sheet with a fixed side margin, and a deeper lower margin reserved for the signature and edition number. M and XL match the two sizes the artist printed himself and continue his original edition numbers; S and L are new editions of 50 beginning at no. 1.

Story

A single green stem climbs the picture from bottom to top, bending one way and then the other, ridged and set with small thorns. Along it, at no particular height, three tiny coral-red flowers have opened.

It is the curve that holds us first. Nothing that climbs goes straight up; this stem leans, corrects, leans again, and reaches the top of the frame only by agreeing to wander. But look where the flowers are. Not at the tip, where we would put them if we were making a picture of success. One is near the top, and two are far below, on the stretches that must have felt like no progress at all.

We keep our celebrations for arriving. Yet so much of what was good in our lives bloomed in the middle: in the long bends, in the years we thought were only on the way to somewhere else.

Perhaps the flowers are along the way, not only at the top.

Paper

A 100% cotton mould-made paper whose surface is comparable to traditional etching paper. Faithful to texture and detail.
